Rock products whether local or exported are subject to severe variations in their characteristics. TQP is conducting all necessary testing for verification or classification of stones in accordance with international standards such as:
- Gradation and testing of Quarry Run materials
- ASTM C568: Classification of Dimension stone
- ASTM C615: Classification of Granite stone
- ASTM C503: Classification of Marble stone
- ANSI A137: Specification of Glass mosaic tile
- And many other stones like travertine, serpentine, sandstone, agglomerate, etc; always in accordance with ASTM or equivalent standards.
Such tests are compressive strength, absorption, specific gravity, modulus of rupture, abrasion resistance, and flexural strength.
Other necessary tests for rock and tile, requested for specific purposes, are also conducted at TQP such as Chemical resistance of tile whether glazed or unglazed, Strength of Stone Anchorages (resistance aux attaches), Resistance to freeze and thaw, Static coefficient of friction, Load test applied on tile as constructed, etc.
